Mandalika MotoGP Circuit

Technique: Rigid Inclusion

Mandalika MotoGP circuit is located in Lombok, NTB with an area of over 1000Ha and a track length of 4.31 KM.

The sub soil condition is predominantly loose sandy soil that is prone to liquefaction problem. At certain area, a soft soil deposit is found to be quite thick that made settlement issue can be problematic. Thus, ground improvement is required to overcome these issues.

Rigid Inclusion (RI) is chosen since it is able to solve both liquefaction and settlement problems. RI columns with diameter of 0.42m and depth varies from 12m to 20m is applied below the circuit trackto follow the actual thickness of problematic soil layer. Rigid Inclusion was chosen as compared to stone column, deep soil mixing or minipile, due to its construction speed and its ability to provide higher bearing capacity.
